Warrior Dash sets 2013 Nebraska date

Get ready for round two, guys and gals. The Warrior Dash is returning to Nebraska next summer.

There are 5,500 spots available for the 2013 5K obstacle race on June 8, which will include a mud pit, a climbing wall and fire, among other things. Organizers have not named a venue yet but did promise the location will be no more than a 90-minute drive from Omaha.

Nebraska hosted the international race series for the first time in June 2012 at The Mad Cow Paintball field in Louisville, 30 miles south of the metro. More than 20,000 people competed in the race over two days, making it one of the most popular running events in the state.

Sign up for the 2013 event for $40 through Nov. 26. Price scheduling and registration is available online.
