Snow in the Omaha area is forecast to begin after noon on Thursday, with an inch or more of accumulation possible.
A slight warming trend will accompany the snow. Tonight's low of about 9 degrees is as cold as it's expected to get the rest of the week. Thursday will still feel chilly because of winds that could gust up to 20 mph.
The National Weather Service forecasts a high Thursday in the low 20s and overnight lows of about 17 degrees.
The snow is forecast to end Friday, and skies by Saturday should be mostly sunny, with highs in the low 20s. Sunday should be similar, only a little warmer.
Plan to bundle up on New Year's Eve, though. Overnight lows are forecast in the low teens.
