 Donate Life Nebraska 5K and Heroes Walk
Call for time
The 3rd Annual Donate Life Nebraska 5K & Heroes' Walk will be held in beautiful Aksarben Village at Stinson Park in southwest Omaha. Participants will experience a unique 5K run with breathtaking scenic views and the opportunity to encounter a unique venue in a new way. The 1-mile Heroes Walk is to honor the families that have graciously elected to donate organs, eyes and tissue of loved ones to benefit those in need.

Special pricing for transplant recipients and donor family members. Registration closes April 16.

 Boston Marathon Remembrance Run

Peak Performance is hosting a free remembrance run to honor the 2013 Boston Marathon, Monday, April 21, at its store located at 519 N. 78th St., starting at 6:30 p.m. Food and beverage will be provided, and those who donate $5 or more to the Boston One Fund will receive a commemorative Boston Marathon wristband.

The Teal Lotus Project was formed to give hope, courage and support to survivors of sexual and/or domestic assault. Jacey Gengenbach, a Cozad native, recently shared her story publicly about surviving a horrendous domestic assault. To help with her medical, dental and therapy expenses; The Teal Lotus Project has pledged to donate all of our funds following the final Teal Lotus run. Join us in supporting Jacey.

 Gambler Half Marathon and 5K

If you want to run a spring half marathon on one of the flattest courses in the Midwest, than sign up for The Council Bluffs - Gambler Half Marathon or 5K. The elevation differential from the highest point to the lowest point is only 29 feet. For your entry fee, you will receive a half marathon finisher's medal, a quality technical t-shirt, food and beverage, and; if over 21, free entry into the Beer Garden.

Join us for our 1st annual Head for the Cure 5K - Omaha on Sunday, April 27 at the Lewis and Clark Landing! Funds raised from this event will benefit brain cancer research through the Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative (the BTTC) directed out of MD Anderson, and Leap for a Cure, a local organization that raises money to buy advanced cancer equipment for local hospitals! This event is sure to be a great one!

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE) is encouraging Nebraskans to put their best foot forward and participate in National Walk at Lunch Day, Wednesday, April 30 all across the state. BCBSNE offers the opportunity each year for young and old, in school or at work to spend 30 minutes getting some exercise and laying the groundwork for better health.

Participation is simple. Pledge any time until April 30 to walk during lunchtime that day. Just go to www.nebraskablue.com, where you will find more information about the walk and how you, a business or organization can register.

5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run for kids in honor and memory of loved ones who have died in traffic incidents.

Runners of all ages and abilities welcomed. Create a corporate, school, family, civic group, or neighborhood team to participate or sign up as an individual. $5.00 registration discount for team registrants.

Why? Because you care about the life of every child at play, every pedestrian, every cyclist, every passenger, and every motorist.

To raise funds to support the mission of Keep Kids Alive Drive 25, a national non-profit based in Omaha, targeting argeting traffic safety education and supporting families of loved ones who die in traffic incidents in communities throughout the U.S.
